Ann Allison Cooke

I have been investigating new avenues for my career. I have been a classroom teacher of science, math, and social studies subjects for many years, and I would now be open to change my approach to helping kids and adolescents learn about their world. Luckily, I have many talents, and there are many different types of jobs in which I could have a great time and also be helpful to the kids, the community, and the world.
I'd really like to work with kids in an atmosphere of investigation and exploration. I am eager to collaborate with a team to create and facilitate learning adventures. Any school, any size and almost anywhere, with a determination to guide kids by letting them make decisions and work together to solve problems their own way, no matter the size of the problem, would be amazing.
I'm open to many ideas, though. I would, for example, really like to work with a team to create educational games, project-based learning experiences, and science investigations, such as at a science center or museum, working with classes, visitors, or providing professional development. An after school program may have an opportunity to work with others to create a STEM/STEAM curriculum. I would also love to organize a program, such as an after school program or professional development curriculum, planning the events, activities, trips, and even attendance. I actually do like to organize things like this. I'm always the one who volunteers to make the schedule. :-)
I'd like to continue to create experiences for the children who truly learn to think more creatively, critically, and constructively while having fun in a relaxed atmosphere, able to move and talk and even chew gum. I need to work collaboratively with a team. I am open to many suggestions as ways to accomplish these goals.
